Has Reality Television Gone Too Far?

What do you think about shows such as Mob Wives, Love & Hip Hop, Housewives of Atlanta (and other cities around the globe), Basketball Wives and so many others that depict the modern woman as drama queens, gold diggers and whores? Do you feel that these woman, who are mothers themselves, can be considered role models for both their children and the women of all ages that flock to watch them on these television shows?

  1. I too believe these reality show have gotten way out of control. The women on these shows act like street women as opposed to ladies. I do not understand why women look up to them and mimic their behavior and strive to be just like them as opposed to someone like Michelle Obama or many other great examples. I am hoping that the next generation wakes up and realizes that beauty fades and what they are watching on television is fantasy and a path that will eventually lead to destruction.

  2. Thank you for responding. I could not have said it better myself. I have in the past enjoyed certain reality shows, however the recent influx of shows such as these have turned me off. My hope is that more positive role models will become focused on in the media and short circuit the popularity of these reality shows and reality stars who exhibit such behaviors.
